I have completed an LLM in Human Rights from the University of Hong Kong and an MA (English) and a M.Ed. (Specialization in English) from the Tribhuvan University Nepal. At present I have been working as the Head of the Collective Rights Division in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of Nepal for more than nine years.Since 2010, I have completed two years assignment as South Asia Programme Manager for the South Asia Department of the Asia Forum for Human Rights and Development, a regional Asian NGO with more than 48 members from Asian countries working in the area of human rights and development. Before joining FORUM-ASIA, I headed the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of Nepal, where I also served as a Focal Person for International Relations. As a Member Secretary of the Constituent Assembly Election Coordination Committee, I was responsible for providing policy advice to NHRC Nepal on procedural and substantive issues surrounding the electoral process. I have been also involved in a number of human rights investigations and monitoring missions during Nepal’s internal armed conflict. I have extensive working experience in human rights in South Asian countries conducting number of Fact Finding Missions and human rights trainings as well as human rights investigation and monitoring missions at South Asian countries. I have undertaken an international course on Participatory Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation from the Netherlands.
