I have worked as researcher on economics issues for more than 25 years, both in Costa Rica and abroad.
I have some research publications by the Interamerican Development Bank, World Bank, Organization of American States and International Development Research Centre of Canadá.
My research interests are in topics of Economic Development, International Trade, Knowldege-based Economy and Finance for SMEs.
Professional/ Work Experience:
I am an economist works as an international consultant as well as the executive director of the High Technology Advisory Commission Foundation (CAATEC: www.caatec.org).
I have been also a professor of economics at the Costa Rica Insitute of Technology for more than 15 years.
I worked as economic advisor of the President Office of Costa Rica from 1998-2002 and as the director of research and strategy at Coalición Costarricense de Iniciativas de Desarrollo (CINDE) between 1996 and 2001.
I was a member of the board of Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, as well as the vice-president of this bank from 1989-2003.
