Research:
Improving
household food security in rural communities through linking farmers'
indegenous knowledge with scientific knowledge practices.
Increasing knowledge sharing and development information access to rural farmers through use of new information technologies.
Improving on weather and seasonal rainfall forecasts for small scale farmers.
Professional/ Work Experience: Since 1995 I am working for the Uganda Department of Meteorology, which is under the Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment. Developmental
Information Production: Produce monthly agrometeorological bulletins,
for dissemination to all key stakeholders in Uganda. Research
Work: Principal Investigator for three Research Projects in Uganda,
related on farmers, their indeginous knowledge, climate issues and food
security. Projects Implementation: National Coordinator of RANET
Uganda Program. This aims at establishing information centers in more
than 20 rural sites in Uganda. Interinstitutional Partnership
Development: Develop and establish partnerships between Uganda
department of Meteorology and Non Government Organisation, as well as
other local and international organisations. Institutional
Relations: Represent Uganda Department of Meteorology on Local,
National and International organisations, workshops and meetings. Trainer.
Conducted more 20 Farmer Training workshops in Uganda. Aims at using
scientfic information accessed through information technologies.
