Expertise: I am Socio-Economist mainly doing studies on the impact of the ILO investments in rural Cambodia on the rural communities'quality of life. I have carried out research on employnment in ILO supported road construction and maintenance: the impact of wage earnings on workers.|In addition I have carried out a case study on credit and landlessness in Cheung Prey and Battambang Districts, Cambodia.|My expertise include socio-economic development of the rural population, rural development and its impact on the society, irrigation and agricultural developments and its impact on the rural population, the issue of gender and development, the progress of poverty reduction (or increase)in the process of development activities, etc.
Professional/ Work Experience: September 2001 to present: I have been assigned as UNV-socio-economist in ILO-Upstream Project. The mojor task is to carry out research on investment impacts of the ILO on the society of the rural population.|August 1999 to September 2001: I have been assigned as UNV-Research Officer at the Center for Advanced Study (CAS), Phnom Penh (Cambodia). CAS is a well known research NGO in Cambodia. During my assignment in Cambodia I have carried out the following studies:- Employment in ILO Supported Clearing and Cleaning Monuments and Environs of the Angkor Wat World Heritage Site: The Impact of Wage Earning on Workers, Sponsored by ILO-Upstream Project, Cambodia, Phnom Penh, April 2002.
- An Overview of Child Involvement in Illicit Drug Use and Trafficking in Cambodia, sponsored by ILO-IPEC- Cambodia, presented on the Sub-regional conference at ILO-IPEC, Bangkok, July 5-8, 2001.
- An Evaluation of Farm Level Impact of the Barai Irrigation System, Project Impact Study, sponsored by ILO-Upstream project, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, May 2001.
