Expertise: I am interested in tax law in general, but particularly in income tax and profits tax. I wrote my docotoral thesis on the subject of international double taxation, and have constant interest in international tax law and comparative tax systems. I took part in several projects on local government financing and I would also like to deepen my understanding of tax policy in democratic societies and especially in transitional countries.|As I work at a teaching institution, I am also interested in the system and the working of the high education institutions, and at the reforms they are inevitably facing.
Professional/ Work Experience: Until now, I came all the academic way, starting as an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb back in 1982. After four years spent in an insurance company and in army, I came back to the Faculty of Law, where I received my M.A. degree. I received Ph.D. in tax law in 1997 and shortly after became Assistant Professor. Now I occupy the postion of the Deputy Professor on the Department for Financial Law and Financial Science (it is an old, traditional name; that is in fact Department for Tax Law) of the Faculty of Law.
Geo Interest: Croatia, Middle Europe countries, especially transitional ones
