Professional/ Work Experience:
- I have about seven (7) years of professional research experience in irrigation and water engineering, watershed hydrology, water resources management, climate change impact analysis on water resources and agriculture, soil and water sampling and analysis, water supply and sanitation, rural development, socio-economic studies and agro-hydrological modeling. Harris also has some professional experience and training in the fields of population and urbanization, environmental chemistry, environmental management, environment economics, environmental geology and hydrogeology. He holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana, Legon and B.Sc in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Engineering specialization) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. In addition, Harris has field research experience in all the ten (10) regions in Ghana, Uganda and Kenya and has also received training in Governance in Oil, Gas and Mining Revenues from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He has been a Resource Person for most of Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) training programs on small scale irrigation and water and sanitation. Harris is currently a Consultant to the Rural Development and Youth Association (an International NGO in Kumasi) on a Climate change and Climate Adaption Programme. Harris with Dr. B.O. Antwi started the Climate Change and Environmental Management Programme within the Soil Research Institute. He is innovative, self-motivated, a fast learner and capable of working effectively with subordinates, colleagues and superiors in a multi-cultural setting. Harris has good technical writing and communication skills.
