Professional/ Work Experience:
My current position is senior economist at the Center for Strategic Studies of the Peruvian Institute for Business Action (IPAE) in Lima, Peru. My main responsibilities include research in subjects related to country and business development as well as education quality improvement. Research papers are distributed by email to a database of more than 4,000 people monthly. Until last year I also wrote on behalf of IPAE, one page articles for a newspaper specialized in business thanks to an agreement with IPAE.
My previous position until March 2010 was in a government agency named National Center for Strategic Planning (CEPLAN), which was in charge to elaborate a national development plan for 2021. I worked as infrastructure specialist in charge of preparing a methodology to prioritize infrastructure projects. I was also in charge of conducting a working group that gathered representatives of private and public institutions to propose policies and objectives in relation to the economy of the country. Before leaving CEPLAN the plan was finished and submitted to the Prime Minister.
Before CEPLAN I worked at the Ombudsman Office, whose responsibilities in Peru include supervising public utilities regulators. I worked as Advisor in economic regulation. I was responsible for analyzing the proposals for amendments to the utilities regulatory framework and proposals for tariffs of public utilities, especially water and electricity.
