Expertise: I am particularly interested in issues of minority peoples, especially indigenous communities. I have lived for over 2 years with Orang Asli (indigenous people in Malaysia) and have also worked with other native communities. I have interest in the organization and relations within the household and family, particularly in terms of gender issues.|
I train development practitioners and academics in research methods and ethics of research. I teach topics such as PRA, Sustainable Livelihoods, Gender Analysis Frameworks...
Professional/ Work Experience: I am programme co-ordinator of the Institute of Development Studies. I teach development studies at the institute with an emphasis on issues of gender and development, indigenous people and development, health and development, children and development.|
I have extensive experience training practitioners in field methods.
