Promoting conservation of the environment to achieve sustainable development
Specialized in Forestry and Environmental management I have obtained a Master's Degree at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. Published several papers on EIA , agriculture water management , forest resoration. On Environmental Impact Assessment adn review, received training both locally and internationally. My research project for the Master's was on rainforest restoration ecology in the buffer zone of the Sinharaja rainforest. Publications are as follows:

Professional/ Work Experience:
Presently, I am with the Challenge Program on Water and food (CPWF)at the International water management Institute. Before joining CPWF I was with IWMI, as a Research Officer, and a Forestry and Environmental Specialist for more than 3 year. Before joining IWMI, I was a Programme officer of South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP), an intergovernmental organization set up by the governments of South Asia such as Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives, India Pakistan Nepal and Sri Lanka. Before joining SACEP I worked as an Environmental Scientist and an Environmental Officer at the Environmental Foundation Ltd. I have nearly 10 years of professional experience in both managerial and supervisory capacities at Environmental Foundation Ltd (web site http://www.efl.lk/) on project management (i.e. Environmental Justice project).
