Expertise: My background is economics and I did my MA in
Development Economics at the University of Sussex. My interest rests on
issues related to Fiscal and Monetary policy in countries where oil is
the main source of income. I finished my PhD in the University of
Khartoum in July 2007. The theme of the thesis is the macroeconomic
implications of oil exportation.
Professional/ Work Experience:
Currently I am working at the IMF country office
in Sudan on secondment basis from the Ministry of Finance and National
Economy (I was working at the Ministry of Finance and national economy
since 1988). At the Ministry I was responsible for the design
of a macroeconomic framework in collaboration with other colleagues
from the Central bank and the central bureau of statistics.
At the IMF office we monitor the implementation of the IMF/Sudan economic program.
Affiliation: I am affiliated to the development studies and research center- University of Khartoum where I did my PhD.
