| The Workshop on the Analysis of Poverty and its Determinants in the MENA Region was held at the Sanaa Sheraton Hotel, 31 July - 1 August, 2001. It was Organised by the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and the World Bank. The workshop brought together researchers working in the various aspects of poverty and its determinants in the region. To build on ERF’s previous work in this area, the workshop targeted, in particular, researchers who relied primarily on the analysis of household survey data. The main objective of the workshop was to identify and discuss the main areas of poverty research currently undertaken in the region. The Discussions also benefited from the comments of international experts who were invited for this purpose. |
