The Syria Trust for Development is a newly-formed not for profit, non governmental organization, funded by grants and donations. The Trust aims to grow substantially as an organization over the next few years and to provide people and communities throughout Syria with the tools, the skills, the confidence and the opportunity to take charge of their lives and to benefit society.

At present comprising around 90 staff, and running three major public projects, the scope of its project work will range from non-formal learning to rural development to cultural initiatives. The Trust aims:

• to inspire and empower individuals and communities throughout Syria
• to initiate and manage programs in partnership with people to develop capabilities, attitudes and opportunities that enable them to realize their potential, take charge of their lives and benefit society
• to guarantee the success of the Trust's projects through adequate support & assistance

The Trust encompasses a number of shared management services including the divisions of Research, HR & Administration, Finance and Communications
