The South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) is a research institute on international issues and is an independent, non-government think-tank whose purpose is to increase awareness of the importance of international affairs. The Institute produces policy briefs and conducts workshops and conferences.

stimulating informed public debate
building leadership and research excellence in Africa
The Institute’s activities include:
making input into policy development locally and internationally
undertaking research on current issues of importance to Africa generally and South Africa specifically
developing linkages and joint programs with international organizations and agencies throughout the world
maintaining a resource center and reference library (that is a United Nations repository as well as a World Bank Development Information Centre) for students and scholars of international relations
The website houses various tabs with information on research, experts, publications, events, youth programs, memberships, and contact details. A number of papers can also be found online in addition to toolkits, a library, job opportunities, funders, and annual reports among other things.
