The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) in Islamabad works in the analyses of policy proposals and public programs by undertaking independent research of current issues policies at the national, regional and international level. It achieves its goal by creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue between among those who create, influence and have a stake in policies. Core areas of policy research and advocacy at IPS include:
- country affairs, including Pakistani society
- education, economy, governance and politics, and security
- international relations, including regional and global politics and trends
- contemporary Islam, developments in Islamic thought and movements in Pakistan and the rest of the Muslim world
IPS disseminates the findings of its research through a variety of channels, including national and international conferences, symposia and seminars; publication of books, periodicals and research papers; and contributions to the mass media. The website includes the monthly journal Pakistan Political Perspective which monitors events and activities of political parties and performance of the institutions of parliament, judiciary, president, prime minister and the cabinet. |
