USAID-funded research programme on food security in Africa. Research focuses on: improving access to food by vulnerable groups; macro and sectoral policies and complementary actions to promote food security through broad based income growth; designing more cost-effective food systems and related institutions; farm and non-farm sources of income to promote food security; food security and natural resources management. Country-specific studies include Mali, Rwanda, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and the Sahel. The website includes information on the programme, project fact sheets (overview of work/findings of the research projects, including listings of researchers involved, activities and outputs), and policy syntheses papers (lengthy summaries of policy implications of research work: full findings usually published by MSU). It also provides online training resources and tools to assist in finding research, such as topic directories of cross-country research for several key topics.
