As part of the series of workshops for the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) researchers, a policy workshop is to be held in Nairobi, Kenya during the period from 1-2 December, 2011, in collaboration with AERC and CommsConsult.
Entitled "GDNet-AERC Policy Brief Training Workshop", the workshop will aim to: build the capacity and skills of researchers in communicating research to maximise its uptake and impact; increase their understanding of research to policy processes, and the role of Policy Briefs in the process; improve their understanding of the role of the media in communicating research for a future strategic approach about media tactics; help the researchers producing an outline Policy Brief for each research project to be finalised after the workshop with the support of the facilitation team (GDNet and CommsConsult). The workshop will gather 13 participants from the following countries: Cameroon; Congo; Ghana; Kenya; Nigeria; Rwanda; Senegal; Tanzania and Uganda.
