GDNet - AERC Research Communications Policy Workshop In collaboration with AERC and IFPRI, a policy workshop was held in Nairobi, Kenya as part of the series of workshops for the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) researchers.
Entitled "GDNet - AERC Research Communications Policy Workshop", the workshop focused on how the projects can build a strategy to reach the policy environment using the relevant messages through the appropriate channels. Researchers within the team were acquired specific skills to work with the channels of most relevance to their specific projects, such as: development of a communications strategy; access to new available knowledge; use of online tools for external communication; production of policy briefs and press releases; presentation and collaboration with the media. The workshop gathered 16 participants from the following countries: Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.
