The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institute established by the Reserve Bank of India for carrying out research on development issues from a number of different view points.
It aims at promoting and conducting research on development from a broad inter-disciplinary perspective, serving as a centre for promoting co-operative endeavor and interaction between research scholars and institutions in India and abroad, undertaking any other project or activity which may be usefully carried out by the Institute for the furtherance of development and social welfare and carrying out training for advanced degrees viz. Masters and Doctorate award. Research areas at IGIDR include:
