Sherine Ghoneim

Director, GDN Cairo Dr. Ghoneim has more than 15 years of experience in the field of knowledge networks and research communications capacity building. Within GDNet, a knowledge hub that brings together and communicates policy-relevant research from the Global South, she is leading to position the program as an internationally recognized focal point/ knowledge broker for development research to inform policy debate. Prior to GDN, she was the Information and Communications Manager at the Economic Research Forum from 1994 – 2001. Dina Abou Saada
|
|
Senior Content Manager Dina has experience and skills in web content management. She is responsible to develop a voice for all aspects of the GDNet website and works to enhance its online presence. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, she works closely with the technical team to maintain website standards. She also develops action plans to strengthen the uptake of Southern research, prepares and circulates email newsletters, and promotes GDNet online outreach campaigns. Before Joining GDNet, Dina worked as a Technical Coordinator at CULTNAT (Centre for documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage, along with a part time job as the project Coordinator of Several EU funded projects such as Vmust, Infoman, Shaduf, Noesis and The Documentation of the Cultural Heritage of the Bedouins of South Sinai. Haitham Hamed El-Khouly
|

Regional Partnership Manager Haitham holds a Master degree in Middle East Studies, School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, American University in Cairo. As Regional Partnership Manager, Haitham’s responsibilities include managing Regional Windows for the Middle East and North Africa, Commonwealth of Independent States and Central and East Europe, ensuring they are regularly updated and abide by editorial policy. He also supports GDNets various capacity building activities and provides logistical support for our annual conferences. He graduated from the Maritime Transport Academy in 1998 and has served as marine office on board merchant ships and as a safety officer in oilfield drilling companies before moving to the development sector. Shahira Emara
|
|
Knolwedge Services Manager Shahira joined GDN in 2006. She is responsible for developing the Knowledge Management Capacity Building Program in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia in coordination with the GDNet team, regional partners and coordinators from our Regional Network Partners. Shahira is responsible for processing the online registration of researchers on our Knowledge Base, making amendments to existing profiles and supporting users ‘enquiries and the overall update and development of the GDNet portfolio of online services. She holds a Masters Degree in International Relations from Hult Internaitonal business School in London. Prior to joining GDN, she worked at Project HOPE which focuses on planning and executing projects on educating health professionals, strengthening health facilities and training community health workers. Maya Madkour
|
|
South Asia GDNet Regional Coordinator Maya holds a Masters degree in Applied Sociology, where she focused on Arab-Americans and theories of assimilation and acculturation, from the University of Texas at Dallas. She graduated from the American University in Cairo in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, International Relations and English Literature. Maya enjoys volunteering and has actively helped members of her community in both Cairo and Dallas. She recently joined GDNet and works on sourcing for development knowledge and social science research papers from the Global South. Reem Mansour

Researchers Online Services Coordinator Reem has over 8 years experience in Development and Campaign Management. Between the years 2001 to 2003, Reem worked with the NGO Service Center in Cairo, Egypt, under the umbrella of Save the Children & USAID. Most recently; Reem was a Campaign Manager at the IBM in Toronto, Canada, before joining GDN in the summer of 2008. As a Researchers Online Services Coordinator, Reem is responsible for signing up new registrants and moderating researchers updates to their profiles. She is also responsible for the online services GDNet provides to its researchers. Reem holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in Commerce and Business Administration from Helwan University. MENA Regional Coordinator Shahira Monieb completed her Masters degree from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2006 as well as her bachelor’s degree in 1999 in Journalism and Mass Communications. Zeinab Sabet

Research Communication Capacity Building Manager Zeinab holds a Master degree in Political and Social Sciences from “Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg”. She worked for Amnesty International EU Office where she was in charge of Middle East and North African countries. She pursued another Master degree with a specialization in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe. She was in charge of programs on smuggling of migrants in North Africa and Assistance to enhance access to justice and legal aid in the Arab region at the United United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC); Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa.
