Institute for Developing Economies – Japan External Trade Organization (IDE–Jetro)

Founded in 1958, IDE conducts research on economic, political and societal issues concerning developing economies. The goal is to support  Japan’s expansion of harmonious trade, investment and provision of international economic cooperation focused on developing economies.

Activities:

IDE has organized and sponsored sessions at our annual conferences at Brazil, Cairo and Dakar on themes ranging from 'Rural Development in Asia: Synergy between Rural Community and Local Administration' and 'Cross-border Diffusion of New Knowledge'. They have also supported GDN's Global Development Awards and Medals Competition as reviewers for submissions received.
