Edward Elgar

Founded in 1986, Edward Elgar is the leading international publisher in economics, finance, business and management, law and public policy.

  • Edward Elgar and GDN partner in the 'GDN Series', a series of publications from GDN designed to give voice to researchers from the developing and transition world - those experiencing first-hand the promises and pitfalls of development.
  • This unique arrangement will allow for us to fulfill our aim of making high-quality research available to our research community in developing and transition countries. Researchers registered on our GDNet Knowledge Base can receive electronic copies of publications free of cost.

German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE)

The German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) is a think tank for German development policy which has supported GDN over the years in organizing workshops and sessions at our annual conferences.

Institute for Developing Economies – Japan External Trade Organization (IDE – Jetro)

IDE has organized and sponsored sessions at our annual conferences including at Brazil, Cairo and Dakar. They have also supported GDN's Global Development Awards and Medals Competition as reviewers for submissions received.

India Development Foundation (IDF)

The India Development Foundation is a private trust dedicated to developing awareness about how markets work, why they are desirable and how we can develop them. GDN partners with IDF in our Global Research Project Promoting Innovations from the Developing World.

Institute of Development Studies (IDS)

The Institute of Development Studies, Sussex, UK works in partnership with GDN on one of our core activities - GDNet.

Institute For Public Policy Research (UK)

The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) based in the United Kingdom, has provided reviewers and mentors in various GDN capacity building activities. We also jointly organized a roundtable discussion earlier this year on migration and development.

Institute for the Relations between Italy, and Africa, Latin America and the Middle East (IPALMO)

The GDN-IPALMO partnership aims to develop, study and raise international awareness of the issues of vulnerability, conflict prevention and development in the context of globalization and equity and global economic reform.

MERCK & CO., INC

Merck Co., Inc., a research-driven pharmaceutical products and service company has partnered with GDN since 2001 in several initiatives including supporting research on basic healthcare delivery systems, sponsorship of a Medal in the Global Development Awards and Medals Competition and sponsorship of sessions at our annual conferences.

Ritsumeikan University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University

The Ritsumeikan University, the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and GDN jointly run a unique six month internship program. This allows one student a year to work at the GDN Secretariat in New Delhi to get hands-on learning opportunities and professional work experience.

Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW)

The GDN-WIIW (Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies) partnership aims to help enhance economic research capacity in South East Europe (SEE); promote knowledge transfer to SEE; facilitate networking among researchers within SEE; and assist in securing knowledge transfer from researchers to policy makers. In addition, WIIW serves as the hub or focal point for GDN activities in South East Europe and will be GDN's contact point in Austria.

The World Institute for Development Economics Research (WIDER)

Over the years, WIDER, an international research organization undertaking multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on poverty reduction, has partnered with GDN in organizing sessions at our annual conferences.

Results for Development (R4D)
The Results for Development Institute (R4D) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating social and economic progress in low and middle income countries. R4D provides policy analysis, critical information, decision-making tools, and policy advice to governments, civil society organizations, and international funders in order to stimulate positive change. With expertise in many areas – including specialties in economics and finance, health policy, education, and governance – R4D works with leaders, globally and at country level, to design and test solutions to some of the world’s biggest development challenges.
