GDN Evaluation

Evaluating capacity building outcomes

Global Development Network

The Global Development Network (GDN) commissions regular internal and external evaluations to assess outcomes and short-term and long-term impacts of its activities including the GRPs, RRCs and the GDN Annual Conference. The evaluations have measured impact and gauged the effectiveness of GDN's capacity-building activities in generating, sharing and applying knowledge. The assessment of GDN's performance, carried out in addition to ongoing monitoring, has informed GDN's strategic decisions going forward.

The evaluation reports available online include three evaluations of the capacity building initiatives, three conference surveys and two external evaluation reports. The most recent evaluation was conducted by an independent evaluation team in 2007.

For additional information on evaluations and surveys, please contact Savi Mull at smull@gdn.int

"GDN has been a great initiative for people like us who chose not to leave their country and yet could compete with the rest of the world on research quality."- A developing country researcher, 2007.
