The Research Fellowship Program by the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD)
The research fellowship program "Understanding Myanmar’s Development," offered by the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, with funding from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada is open to Myanmar researchers working in both academic and non-academic sectors, including independent researchers from the media, NGOs and the private sector. Annually, up to 10 twelve-month fellowships will be awarded to fund social science research in the following general areas:
- Social and economic development
- Agrarian transformation, environment and climate change
- Health and health care systems
- Media and society

Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)
The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) aims to provide an opportunity for citizens of ADB’s developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. The ADB-JSP provides full tuition fees, a monthly subsistence and housing allowance, an allowance for books and instructional materials, medical insurance, and travel expenses. The maximum duration of scholarship award is two years for masters and doctorate programs. Applicants should send applications for scholarships at least six months prior to the planned time to the chosen academic institutions, taking into consideration the normal month of intake and deadline of application in the participating academic institutions. The applicant should have gained admission to an approved MA/PhD course at an academic institution.

Call for papers for "Small Enterprises, Good Governance, and Competition" Conference, Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Policy Center
The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Policy Center in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) invites researchers to submit a paper for the conference “Small Enterprises, Good Governance, and Competition: Keys to Growth with Equity in Emerging Asia.” It will take place from 7-9 November 2013 in Cebu City, Philippines. The conference will address three main policy issues on micro, small and medium scale (MSMEs) development, namely obstacles to growth, innovation and vulnerability to crises. It will also address cross-cutting themes, such as on factors constraining growth of female-led enterprises and the prevalence of informality. Researchers may also submit papers on other topics related to inclusive growth.

Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, AusAID Learning Facility, Vientiane, Laos
The AusAID Learning Facility will provide high quality, integrated monitoring and evaluation, learning, research and knowledge generation to AusAID in order to facilitate performance management of AusAID's rural infrastructure and livelihoods development programs in Laos. It is anticipated that the project will begin in November 2013 and continue through June 2016. Position Summary: The Senior M&E Specialist will manage implementation of an integrated M&E system to capture sector-level results and impact across AusAID's Rural Development Program (including rural livelihoods and rural infrastructure activities). S/he will lead in the identification and scoping of research, knowledge generation and dissemination activities. S/he will provide M&E technical assistance throughout the Program as required.
